Ibgbmxer, yes, throw a gauge in the display and connect it to MAPV. I can't believe I wasn't logging this, but then again, psi is on my display.

Rob, Isn't that a lot of work due to the huge number of routines that rely on map voltage? and if the MAP is off too much, the graphs change, not just slide up/down the scale, correct?

I'm guessing that it's not possible to "scale" for a crappy MAP
    P.S.
I don't see an option for Scaling --> MAP --> Pressure (bar) --> 3.ish ... or will that be in the next version?

No, not really. The transfer function re-scales the MAP signal so that 0Bar = 0 counts; and the highest end of the MAP signal (2-bar or 3-bar or whatever) = 255counts. The cal itself is scaled for the upper end of the MAP range only. The transfer function can take care of the fact that 0MAP = 0.5v (instead of 0v). But, you need to know what that relationship is to calculate the transfer function constants.

For the S60 MAP, that is well known. The problem is, the fake 3-bar 'GM' map sensors out there do not conform to the originals voltage range.

Ideally, and for the highest accuracy, this needs to be done for each individual MAP sensor. Even the original S60 MAPs or GM MAPs had some variability due to manufacturing tolerances, etc. The transfer function that was used in the S60 cal was actually a 'worst case' based on the tolerance range for the output voltages.

So, as long as it's output is linear, it is possible to scale for the cheap---- MAP sensors.

If someone will do an accurate measurement of the pressure vs. voltage for one of these, I'll be happy to post up the correct transfer function values to be used in MP Tune. Like I mentioned, I'll measure the one I have left, but more data is always better...

So I was looking at my latchboard, I noticed there is a tick mark on the board at one side like there are in the chips, I am assuming this would go towards the front just like orienting the chips?

If I go by the acronyms in the file names, I suppose I can pick out my transmission, and the lack (or presence) of a VNT.

So that leaves 4 candidates for my 90 daytona 2.5 ES Turbo 1:

    MTX_2335_MP
    MTX_A225_Stock
    MTX_A593_Stock
    MTX_B246_HiTorq

    What are these?

I think we're going to need one-sentence descriptions for every template file in every Turbonator code base, both in a readme.txt and also in the wiki. I dont see how people are supposed to know what to do here. Or is there some way to figure out what these are that I missed? I faintly remember finding clues somewhere a year ago..

I added a comment on th wiki about choosing the template to start with. Basically, if one matches what your car came with stock, use that one. Other wise, use one that matches your setup (IE 2.5, MTX). The different cals have very minor differences. I wish I knew for sure what all the applications were for each PN. But, I haven't been able to find that definitively.

I also added (or started anyway) the Overboost, Rev Limiter and Speed limiter sections, and the fan control sections of the base cal setup.

The Boost Control portion will take some thought. For a base cal, I'm inclined to say it should be left as stock. But, I think there needs to be some explanation of the boost control setup on the wiki somewhere. I know it's a sticking point for many guys.

Personally, I think the computer controlled boost is very capable. But, you definitely need to know how to tune it to make it work for every turbo...

The way I did it on my Daytona was set my part throttle and WOT boost targets, then adjust the waste gate duty cycle until it worked properly.

for changine the duty cycle would it be best to start high and work down?
This is my one major problem I have with my car is computer controlled boost.

Re: CLASS: Setting up base Turbonator cal and burning/flashing a cal

    Yeah, that's why I need to make a how-to.

First, I need to make a simple how-to for the base cal setup.

    Then, a detailed how-to-tune...

Once I get my flashable smec I'll be much more apt to play around with tuning. That pulling the smec out gets old quick.

Re: CLASS: Setting up base Turbonator cal and burning/flashing a cal

Okay, so I burned one of the TIII 3 Bar Map Cals, just to see if I could do it right and make the car run. The only two adjustments I made were to flag the switchable boost and knock in the turbonator. I put it in the car last night, lo and behold, it fired up. However, the car shut down at 5500 rpm for some reason, it was as if it had hit a cutout. This was the second one I burned, the first time I didn't have the offset right and so it didn't fire. This time it appeared to be running okay. Any thoughts?

It was theTIII SBEC/SBEC II zip File from your google drive. It was a TIII 3 bar cal, specifically T-T3_22_T3_MTX_A393_3-bar file. I checked the rev limiter and it seemed okay, of course, I am not 100 percent sure that I know what I am doing. Is there any way I could have burned it wrong and it still have run?

No, if it didn't burn right it just wouldn't run.

Let me check the cal. Not sure if my latest is in that .zip...
