Not really short of a whole front interior and front bumper and electrics transplant off a later one. They work as systems.

r-w , the americans had air bags in daytonas and lebarons as early as '88
so with the sensors and electronics & wireing and 88 steering collum with the air bag wheel it's doable - I'd have to think
88 wireing would also give you smec and make you TII ready as well
Correct. My first 88 had a production date of 01/88 and it had the regular 3-spoke steering wheel. My second one had a production date of 06/88 and that had the newer-style wheel with an airbag. So it appears to have been a rolling change that year, at least for the G body.

The airbag was an option in 88, that's why they don't all have one.

"Is it rare?" Look at it this way, 9422 in itself makes this a rare car plus the fact it is a first year Turbo Z with leather (pretty much the car that started the Turbo era) and it appears to be very solid and restorable. None of these cars were produced in high numbers whether you are talking Turbo or Shelby Z's, Shelby Chargers, GLH's, Lebaron GTC's and especially the true Shelby cars. You add in the fact that a good number of these cars have not survived the ravages of time, I think it's already rare.
I noticed the lower front air dam which is hard to find is missing a big chunk. If I am not mistaken a good fiberglass guy may be able to fix it. My nephew cracked and chipped the rear bumper on his '89 CSX and a fiberglass expert was able to fix it good as new.
that wheel was also available in the ramchargers too. Mine had one in it stock.
