What years used the 2 pc intake and was there a gasket between the 2 halves, RTV, or just dry fit? And what was the torque # for the 2 halves? Thanks, Jer

86 & 87. There is a gasket btwn the halves. It's availabe from TU. Not sure about the torque #.
Gasket comes in the "2.2/2.5 intake gasket kit" wich usually comes with the grafoil gasket, the two piece center gasket, and a couple tbi gaskets. Only like 10 bucks at the local parts store, if you need them all.
O.K., Thanks guys, I've got the gasket on the way. Now all I need is the inch lb.# for torquing them together. Any body got an '86 or '87 'Tona engine manual? I'd really hate to have to buy another set of manuals just to get that one torque # My Scamp pickup is getting the TII setup because 84 HP just wasn't safe enough out there anymore. Thanks in advance, Jer
Isnt it only like 20-30 inch lbs? I just tighten something like that to approx 3/4-1 turn past snug. Its a bolt into aluminum, be careful not to strip it. If you have a piece of glass you can lay 1000 grit sandpaper on it, and run both flanges over it to "homebrew" re-deck them if they warped at all. Uncommon though.
The 87 service manual lists the two piece intake plenum bolts at 200in.lbs.
Cordes, You are the man. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. BTW, the bolts that tie those two intake halves together are M8X1.25X25 and Fastenal has them if anybody needs them besides me, Jer
