Steve, you've done more than enough, forgot to mention you gave me a place to stay for the night as well. For SDAC 22 the GLHS will be there for sure. Just need to bring the CSX to the car show in Omaha around May timeframe.

haha Man, just get in and go. That's part of the fun of driving a car back. I wasn't hoping for any problems, but I know I would have overcome any issues if anything happened. Not to mention, I had AAA and if it came down to it, I'm sure I would be close enough to a board member. I know if anyone needs my help doing something like this, I'd do all I could to be available.

Anyone have the part numbers for the timing belt from Mopar performance or the head gaskets? Where is the page with all the part numbers?

You mean the shorter one, or the stock one?

Stock ones. I edited the thread about head gasket part numbers too. I'll check Cindy's site to see if she has them, but I thought they are still available at the dealer?

Last I heard, the MP 005 gaskets were discontinued but the 006 were still available, or was it the other way around?

And I'll not mention to Amber that you forgot her name. She was really glad to see you again.

Man, I should have remembered that. I know you probably said her name a couple times while we were there. I checked with Cindy and she offers both in terms of the head gasket. I may just grab one of each, because there are thickness differences, correct?

haha Man it was a quick trip, but it would have been fun to have someone there to talk to and I'm sure we would have had a great time just being on the road driving 90 mph!

Ordering some of the replacement parts now, bushings for the time being, suspension (coil-overs) is next, new axles, engine rebuild gaskets and seals then the interior will get some attention.

I will do my best to get the pictures today and post later tonight, just not enough hours in the day and now not enough daylight!

The difference between the 005 and 006 gaskets is that one has holes for the crossdrills and one doesn't. I can't remember which is which offhand.

    006 is the crossdrilled, 005 is non-crossdrilled.

Actually knowing me, probably not. I very rarely address anyone by their name in conversation, which is probably why I have so much trouble remembering most people's names.

Cool, thanks Ray. I will be pulling the motor out in the next couple of months and we'll see what all Craig had done to it. Supposedly it's a rebuilt long block and an NOS turbo, but something is not happy with all the smoke.

Yes, it will in no way be a GLH-R/T, but I plan to make the most of it. Maybe I'll start a website and challenge people to race me.

Cool deal and I'm sure you did mention her name once or twice. As soon as I read it, it clicked!

Thanks, I plan to follow your thread and see what all you've encountered either to reproduce it or avoid it! haha I already read about the front grill so I will be sure EVERYTHING is unbolted/unscrewed before I pull or tug on the panels. By the way, yours looks incredible and I'm more than impressed with the time you've put into it. I hope I don't take any short cuts and give you a run for your money at SDAC for the P body class.

Got the insurance card today! Not going to be driving it for a bit, but nonetheless!!!

Also ordered just about everything for the car from Polybushings, hatch shocks and lots of gaskets and basic stuff from Rock Auto. Going to be ordering the half shafts from a local vendor who sells Empi axles, which are what I have in the GLHS. They seem to be built well and pretty thick cores, but obviously better than the remans at Autozone or wherever. That's for this month and next month I'll be getting the coil overs from Rich, whenever they are ready. Trying to do this in pay periods so I don't get hit all at one time with the bills!

Spoke to John Roberts (local Memphis guy on these boards) and we will more than likely be pulling the motor, transmission, K-frame and everything else to clean the engine bay and re-shoot it with some fresh paint. I'm sure it's in good shape considering it's covered in dust and oil, but I want it to shine like the rest of the car will, one day. Still need to get some pictures up, probably going to do that this weekend.

Well I'm glad you finally saw the light and bought a P-body I look forward to the resluts with jealousy as I do with every CSX. Maybe one year we can tear up the fun rally with it thought I'll still stand that if we get lost it's your fault.

Haha. Well next time you'll need to read the directions and provide input in miles not kilometers. :-D I'll bring it to SDAC 23 and we'll tear it up!!!!!!

OOOH KAY!! Finally got around to taking some pictures of the car. Looks rough but it cleaned up nicely. Found that the side ground effects are broken on both sides at the back inside the fender wells. I don't think it's too bad, but I can't tell if it's missing parts where it would mount or if they're just broken. Saw this after I cleaned it, so no pictures of that right now.

    Drivetrain

The driver's side drive shaft looks REALLY compressed. I don't know much about 555s, but I know my shafts aren't supposed to be that compressed, I don't think.

Wheels are in great shape, except the one has an issue with the inside center where the cap goes. Also missing 2 of the center caps. Are these compatible with any other center caps?

Regarding your center caps, there is a thread here really recently where someone had some that would just need to be painted.

Nice car. You have more nerve than me. If I knew I may lose half my oil between fill ups, I would be too nervous to drive that far. Good luck on the project!

Oh man, it's just an engine. If it failed, I'd just tow the car somewhere and put in a new one. I'm going to go through the motor anyways, but I am glad that it made it home. And I'll look on the site for the center caps, thanks man!!

haha No, those are coming off, especially the front one.

Alright, got my parts in today. Still have some more coming, but the bushings and engine mounts are here. I also got the window seals for the front glass, which look AWESOME!! Thanks Johnny and Greg!
