It sounds like you either popped the lo/reverse piston or maybe just burn't up the 3rd gear clutch?
I'll post some pics of the carnage once I get the trans out. Might be a while before I get to it. Are you running the red frictions or is there a stronger piston lip seal?

Ya know, if that track has a correction factor, you can use it and figure your corrected time. Then you can tell yourself (and all of us:p) that you ran an 11:eyebrows: 12.01 is close enough for me anyway, nicely done:clap:
The track here is 2300 feet so my time would correct to an 11.70. The timeslip would have been nice to look at over the winter though.

I had some billet reverse servo's made that use a scarf seal.
I just use the top of the line Raybesto's frictions, the front frictions are a grey/metal looking material and the rear's are a brown colour, they seem to hold up well.
Re: Steve's 1989 Lebaron 2.2L
The Lebaron ran it's best time in Vegas. 11.88 @ 115 mph. I didn't have the nerve to really step it up and run the 4 bar map sensor & new Boost Button cal from Rob. There wasn't any time or dry pavement before the event to test. I wanted to make sure that the car was still in one piece to cruise the Las Vegas strip. On the way back from Vegas, I picked up a roll bar and other safety stuff so that I'm 11.49 legal.
Castrol Raceway opens up on April 29th. I hope to test out 35 psi of boost and the new cal.
Re: Steve's 1989 Lebaron 2.2L
Awesome, glad to hear. Guess you got your cal issues figured out,
Heading down here again this year?
Re: Steve's 1989 Lebaron 2.2L
OMG how did I miss this thread!?!? Looks great Steve! How do you like the intake and throttle body? I'd love some feedback.
Re: Steve's 1989 Lebaron 2.2L
Just got through all the videos at the top. The car sounds sweet!

There is still a miss at about 6300 now. I'm going to try the PT lifters now to see if that solves it.
I'm going to try to make it to Mission July 1-3. (test and tune, street legal and weekend event) I hope there will be more than 1 sport compact on the weekend. I was getting bored racing myself last time.

Thanks, the intake and throttle body are working great. Everyone comments on the intake and want to know about it. I'm curious, how much of gain the car would see with a larger plenum. There is a good inch to firewall but the vacuum ports would have to be moved all to the end of plenum. The other improvement might be velocity stacks/bells to smooth the flow to the runners. Thanks again for the intake.

Well if everything works out, I'll join you again, all weekend,

Re: Steve's 1989 Lebaron 2.2L

It could be valve float. Do you guys have any extra beehives?

Running 25 lbs of boost and going to run 35 psi later this year. Yep, that's EGT. Almost a meltdown on that run at 1800! I've got it to 1700 now, by advancing the timing in the cal. The G head wants so much timing.

Ok, maybe we can change them out when I'm out there in July.
