The majority of reset issues I've seen people have come from bad grounds. MS is quite sesitive to this so you need to make sure they are rock solid. For mine I soldered in an 8ga wire across all the grounds to make sure it was good. Overkill......sure, but I haven't had any issues.

Yeah that was my first thought

But I dont see any bad ground... somebody told me that I can address this issue with a capacitor, like a 1farad capacitor in the power surge of the MS, have anyone heard of this?

Experiment by adding a large gauge ground (at least 10ga) directly to the battery and see if the resets continue. If they do then the ground wasn't your problem. Looks can be very decieving when it comes to grounds.

I don't think you can overkill with good grounds. Also want to make sure you are not to close to a MSD box or other EMI generators.

    Re: Megasquirt: RESET issues?

I had the same problem with resets. My main issue was that I had the sensor ground tied into the grounds for the MS.

I have a cap on the B+ just before the MS and it helped dampen the sensor ground issue, but it did not fix anything.

Now, with good grounds and the cap there are no resets unless the key is cycled. The TPS trace is super smooth.

    Re: Megasquirt: RESET issues?

Just read your other post. Your issue is way beyond a simple sensor ground like I had.

You are having reset issues above 25psi?

Are you using a seperate injector driver board?

Noise from injector or coil drivers could be the cause of noise. A cap on B+ just might help your situation. I used one from Mouser p/n 75-36DX203G025AF2A, it's a little big, it works well.

Cool !! I will try to check the grounds with a friend ... but its somehow dificult because only I know where is each cable and where it goes...

Anyway, yes Im having those reset issues above 25+ psi (high load) so could be inyectors maybe?

    This is my last log:
http://www.4shared.com/file/14458662.../5_online.html (its on a safe sharing server)

Also I just noticed that the TPS signal is going down as its having boost eventhough I was running at WOT...

I will add that cap, I have right here a 25v 3300uF could it be useful? or I need to find a bigger one?

    Re: Megasquirt: RESET issues?

I have everything on my MS including zeitronix grounded to the same dedicated grounding block, then the grounding block grounded to battery.

Did you read what the manual said to install on the power side? Supposed to be a 5 dollar part.

    Re: Megasquirt: RESET issues?

What are the details of your MS? i.e. any add-on boards, vr or hep rpm signal, high or low impedence injectors, single coil with distributor or distributorless, etc.

Many users have noise issues when using the on board injector drivers with low impedence injectors and very high pulsewidths. Most have solved this issue with the peak and hold injector driver board from jbperf.

If your grounds are sized appropriately, check for a bad ground by testing with the engine running using your voltmeter. Place one lead on the actual ground (cylinder head, battery post, etc.), place the other lead on the lug (the wire is best) at the ground. If you see more than .5VDC you definately have a bad ground. My electronics instructor always told me to be wary of anything more than .3VDC.

Just installed a 4700uf 25v capacitor just before the PIN 28 (power surge of the MS) in parallel, Do I need something bigger?

I will try to do that, now I that I have already installed everything will be a PITA move cables to a common gorunding block, instead of that I will add as much of grounding cables that I can.

Nothing fancy ! ... its a MS 1, with a 3.0 board and thats it, no additional boards.

Usign a Neon Coil pack (Wasted spark distributor-less), ford escort crank sensor.
Neon Stage 2 injectors, so they are High Z injectors.

I have done that (the testing ground) and some grounds were bad, I have already move them I just need to recheck if I still have the problem .. thanks for the suggestion
