    Re: Connectors

pins for the board or sockets for the connector ?

I'd be up for something like eighty sockets for the plug - enough to rebuild a connector and some spares

Did this group buy happen for the 60way pins? I got to the point where I was gonna order some for my build. Found them at nexus electronics. $.09 per at a quantity of 200. Just bought them.

Hi, the group buy did not occur yet. I was going to send out a last call on this. A few months back, I bought out Nexus' stock of these connector (240). I did try to get additional stock but the price raised to $0.35. I guess they found a few more, lucky for you.

Lucky me! I may sell some back to those needing them when I'm done.

    Re: Connectors

I would like to retain the stock injector wiring harness connector on my lancer if possible. All I can find is the male 14-16ga terminals. Does anyone have a link to the 18-20ga units? Also, if the female side is available I would like those too.

    Re: Connectors

My research for these has led to just the larger gauge male ones and nothing for the female ones. That is why I have migrated away from those where possible. You may want to also check Clips & Fasteners for those terminals. I am pretty confident they will be cheaper in bulk compared to Amazon.

    Re: Connectors

Thanks guys. While I would love to reuse this connector and retain the stock look, I might have to use a Deutsche connector on this car too. I'll do some more searching, but I can't even find the smaller male connector.

    Re: Connectors

The 14892 is the closest thing to the female spade terminal mate. I believe I used these to get me by, but they do not fit in the socket as the OEM ones do. The "keeper" has to be bent back really far and I'm general, the terminal doesn't fit the socket so it can move around when reconnecting the 40-way. More or less, you have to ensure they don't get pushed out when connecting the harness or you just need to know to push it back in after connecting it. For one or two it's not a big deal, but on 15-20, that would be frustrating and zero guarantee they won't back off at some point.

I think you and I have done the same thing in that regard. It stinks having to mate them together through the connector like that so you can ensure they're actually mated. I don't need originality over functionality at this point.

    Re: Connectors

Well, the Deutsch connector worked very well for my new injector harness.

I just reread the entire thread and did my best to see if someone posted something for the speed distance sensor. The only thing listed which I think might work is apparently $78. There must be something out there for a reasonable price? I'm pretty sure the reason my SDS in the minivan is dropping the cruise on occasion is due to the pins on the connectors being worn out.

    Re: Connectors

The two wire VSS uses the proprietary molex inspired connectors that no one has been able to find. The original three wire VSS was the same way. The replacement three wire VSS have the updated/better sealed connector design (apex 2.8) and they come with a pre-wired connector so you replace the old crusty one.

Oh boy. I guess I'll try to clean it up and bend the tabs a little for more pressure on the pins. Worst case scenario, I think you just have to tap into the 8v feed for the HEP to run the later SDS right?
