I just picked up an 87 Shelby Lancer parts car for my brother and was wondering if I could use the rear disk brake set-up on my Shelby Charger? If so, what do I need from the parts car? Thanks - Jon

Unbolt the whole system, bolt it up to the SC. E-brake and lines will require some mods but not too difficult. Some say swap the prop valve but I would try it as is and see how it brakes.

ebrake cables should plug right in as the shelby brakes are basically 89+ rear brakes.
no, the charger (like other L bodies) didn't get the 89+ rear disc setup. you may have to play around mixing and matching e-brake cables and stuff. also, the 87/88 rear disc uses the wedge/screw setup inside the caliper for the parking brake instead of the later far superior seperate mini drum under the middle of the rotor.
on my 86 k wagon which came with the standard 200mm rear drum brakes, the HD 220mm (option) center and rear e-brake cables are the proper fit for using spirit rt (and other '89+) rear disc setups, but then again a spirit is a k body just like a k car whereas the L bodies are a different breed.
The shelby lancer brakes were a pull ahead so they got '89 brakes even though it was an '87 car.
Just use the lbody cables on the '89 rear discs and it will fit just fine.
Thanks for the info
