    Fan shroud interchangibility

Okay I just installed a radiator from my brother's old '91 Shadow, into my 1990 Caravan. I ran into a problem with the fan's motor. I really don't want to install my old fan because this new one looks to flow A LOT more air than my previous. Is there any way I can buy a plug-in then splice the wiring to the connectors??

Here's a few pics to show what I'm talking about.

    Thanks!

He does have a point, but he could have made it a little nicer. You can't make out what you are wanting to get across. The pics. are pretty blurry.

    Just my 2 cents.

bryan i used a 90s daytona style fan on my 87 lebarton rad in mine, there is no why to run both fans / ac/rad i just use the rad fan to pull both like a car sent up/ on the vans you can just run a ground to the relay and then to a switch so there no power wire just a ground i can send a pic if you need. fixed my window tape last night befroe i left work al

Thanks Al, I think I'll try and scavenge the connector for the fan motor then splice the wires.

    Settle down guys.

Go the the wrecker and cut off the needed plug, its the only way to do it. Make sure to wire it properly, I believe most fans have the green wire as power but either way, black is always ground. After your done, test it by disconnecting the coolant sensor and lay a sheet of paper on the grill, it should stick, if it blows off, you wired it backwards.

    Re: Fan shroud interchangibility

I personally use the 3.0 low profile fan/shrouds in my cars. It gets rid of the huge fan motor with a slimmer version. The 3.0 fans also has more blades. To fit, I usually have to trim the shroud to fit the lower radiator hose and filler neck.

Okay I grabbed the connector out of a 94 3.0 Shadow. I looked at the fan but I didn't want to hassle with taking it out. So I took it home, spliced the wires together, and incredibly I wired it up right the first time. Thanks for your help guys.
