    half shaft length question

    I think I weakened the right side axle at Cecil last week and when I tried replacing it today the axle I thought would fit I discover it seems to be a little longer...ball-joint shaft won't line up with knuckle hole. Axle has this number on it 4641299 does anyone recognize it? Also in digging through my spare parts I discovered that I have two differant length half shafts. Both have the large splines and same mount but one is about an inch shorter. Any idea what the smaller one might fit? It looks like I could change to the shorter half-shaft and the "longer" axle and have the same over-all length I had before. Might just go back to Autozone for another life-time replacement but I'd still like to know what I've got so I can label for possible future use.

    L bodies are the shortest, followed by Daytona, Shadow etc are aprox an inch longer followed by Vans, which are aprox another inch longer.

    Okay yeah, that's what it is, an L body half shaft with the large spline yoke on it.
