Question A555 Intermediate shaft bearing oil feeder

I tore down my A555 this past weekend to check it out inside and get the case cleaned. I am assuming all that can be there is the aluminum and some of the steel like bearing races when it is cleaned. The only piece left in the trans is the intermediate shaft bearing...and its plastic oil feeder. I can't get the feeder from the dealer (pt #4277690) and I don't have the right screw for the special tool to remove it without breaking it. The hole in the tool won't cover the nipple on the feeder. The book says use tool #whatever, but use screw from tool #whatever2. I have whatever...but not whatever2 So yeah....Cliff R? Anybody? Where do I get this feeder? Its an 89 A555 ID# 4446380 (which, by the way is not listed in the mopar computer as an option, they do however list a 4446381). Is there any way to get the case really clean without removing this damn thing? I want it all to be purdy when I put it in.

You really need to remove the bearing. Not so much to get it clean (but there will be gunk behind it) but to replace the bearing. Especially on the pre-90 trans the bearing and shaft have a love/hate relationship and it's the most critical to replace.

The real difference between tool#1 and tool#2 is that #2 has a hole drilled in the middle about 1/2" deep to clear the nipple on the slinger. It might be possible to drill out #1 to allow it's use, but I'm not positive (we have both so it's never come up). Probably not, because I think the end of #1 screws on, and the material removed would be the threads. But a bit of work with a welder and a drill might get you where you want to be.

A slide hammer pulls it out in a jiffy.

Can I buy the feeder anywhere? I guess the slide hammer idea would work fine...

I am at school, I would need to get home to check that. I'll be going home for thanksgiving this wed. I'll try to get a shipping quote then! How much for the feeder? $5? Make sure it is 4277690.
