When I pick up the van, I have to run through E-check. Sitting right at the front of the CAT is a big 'ol hole. I have a 3" downpipe/side exit exhaust sitting right here, so I'm wondering if there's any way to maybe patch the hole, pass e-check, through my new exhaust on afterwards??

Yes, its called a welder,
Its important NOT to have any exhaust leaks in front of the cat or it can't do its job reducing NOx.
