    86 Bulkhead connector

I am looking for tips on how to get the bulkhead connector to seperate.

I removed the center bolt but can't determine how to get to the release tabs on the 50 pin connector. I'm certain I'm missing something simple but for the life of me I can't find it

PLease help out the village idiot.....

Well, you shouldn't have to do anything. The tabs are there to keep the back of the connector in the firewall. The bolt is supposed to push the pins apart so that you can just tug at it. If the bolt came out, then the connector broke.

Since the bolt is out wiggle it and pull gently.

It think eveything was wiggling when it was try to "gently" remove the connector

I can tell where the bolt is susposed to cam out the connector, but that didn't happen. I guess I need to kindly "persuade" it from the other connector....(read BFH )

The bolt does not always come out, just is unthreaded from the back 1/2.

If it is a 5-speed car you can make more room to get in there by unbolting the clutch cable bracket and swinging it out of the way...
