For a stock 85 Shelby Charger, this is not a high HP or racing application. Specifically are there any clutches I should avoid? The high horse build will happen later with a Rampage I have, but that's a discussion for another day... Thanks.

If it's truly a stock TI log car, then I would feel comfortable with a Luk or Sachs clutch. I've used both before, and they'll hold up fine for very low power. Anything above that and I'll call Chris at TU for a recommendation.
Thanks. Luk is the brand that shows up all over the place.
I found a Luk clutch that has a 232mm disk instead of the 228mm the regular turbo cars used. Small spline. IIRC it was 05-044. Seeing how these are the asbestos free disks now, any increase in diameter is a plus.

If it was an original SACHS, then sure. I don't know what actually sells now. I would likely run a used SACHS plate on a resurfaced or new flywheel with a replacement OEM style disc if I had to. You could even just get a more aggressive disc, but most people don't like snappy clutches, especially on something slow. I ran an used OEM SACHS for 20 years with aftermarket discs until the wear got so bad that clamp load was compromised and it slipped around 300whp. I could have slapped a new full thickness disc in, but it would "fail" sooner due to the wear on both metal surfaces stealing some of my disc thickness and HP was going up anyways.
Clutch combos work great when the surfaces are flat and the disc has the appropriate thickness to match the geometry of the plate. Ive run a "too thick" disc on a plate and slipped at 200xhp, dropped the disc thickness to the correct size and holds twice as much. TU setups also use different thickness setups so you can't mix and match their stuff.
I would experiment with something extremely cheap for a low HP car if time was available to "try again"
