    Panhard bars

I need to make a panhard bar for my lancer, so I thought I would compare the stock unit I had in the basement with theCS racer piece which is on CSX42.

Stock weighs just over 3lbs. The CS racer piece is nearly 6.5 lbs and probably right at that weight when the spacers are counted into it.

The stock bar measures about 45 and 3 eighths inches center to center on the holes. The CS racer bar itself is 42 inches long and threaded for 3/4-16. There are bushings in the 3/4 inch holes which take it down to 1/2 inch openings, and that probably explains why it is so loud over bumps with the m12 bolts not filling up the space enough.

While the stock u channel design offers a lot of strength for the weight, I'm wondering If a 3/4 inch bar wouldn't save a lot of weight and offer adequate strength?

If anyone has suggestions on design, or where to get the components, I'm all ears. I think actually making these will be way easier than this phase.

Thanks. It's embarrassing that I didn't find the thread I had posted in multiple times. Regardless, there is some good info in there and I'll try to make the most of it. Thanks again!
