    Widest Possible Tires and Wheels

What is the widest tire and wheel which might fit up front on a P body. I'm OK with cutting the fenders for them to fit. I do have Rich Bryant's coilovers up there, and from my initial measurements, I have about 6 1/8" from the face of the rotor to the strut. That isn't a lot of room for a wide wheel. I've been doing some research, and I've found that they make an RPF1 in a 17x10 +18 5x114.3. The bolt pattern swap would be super easy up front, but I'm concerned with the space between the strut and the tire.

Who has put the widest tire in the front of a car? Is there a light weight wheel which could help me squeeze a ridiculously wide tire under there while being wide enough to offer good performance for the tread width?

ETA: I'm sure this will cause my scrub radius to be horrific. How bad is a very positive scrub radius?

What would be your plans for the rear? Different bolt pattern?

Yes. I want to keep the rears under the stock quarter panels. I should be able to do that rather easily with a 5x100 wheel. Probably RPF1s and the widest sticky tire that will fit. If I need to, I would be open to modifying some spindles to use a different bolt pattern like Jon Trotter did with GLHS 937. That would open up options for other brakes too. I should probably investigate that while I'm at it. The 11" rear brakes are heavy if nothing else.
