Whose running a standalone?

If so, which one?

I'm now on a an AEM EMS-4 system with a 60-2 CKP wheel, no CMP sensor. It's old as far as standalones are concerned, but still miles ahead of a SMEC/SBEC IMHO. My TIII SBEC lost an injector driver and for what it would cost to repair it, I could buy a cheap/used standalone and gain more options and processing power. Eventually I'll upgrade it too.

Curious what others have chosen, and why.

I'm still in the process of putting Microsquirt on my wife's Daytona. I need to get a trigger wheel mounted on the crank pulley. Then I should be pretty well set.

I like the megasquirt stuff too best bang for the buck.

I have a microsquirt and some speeduinos kicking around (detonationems) and I plan on trying one of them on my reliant at some point.

Been collecting some megasquirt stuff for a while now to have conversion parts.
The van is converted to MS3Pro 1st Gen, and I have both MS3Pro EVO and Microsquirts for other stuff.
I think Slug will get an MS3Pro EVO.

How has the data cable been? I think the AEM piggyback I used work decently, but it was a really expensive usb cable like for an old printer.
My ms2 was always needing scary chinese virus drivers reinstalled for the ancient serial cable adapter. I never bothered finding out if MsPro was better because I didn't want to use multiple styles of ECU going forward.

I wonder what Speeduino does?

The new MSpromini should make people less intimidated about making a potential financial mistake while also not being overly techie

I would expect Speeduino to be much like old MS, but with USB B connector and modern USB VCP drivers from the Arduino tech stack. However, with Speeduino there are custom boards, so depending on what you get it may change.

I have been thinking about Speeduino for approx 5+ years. Maybe someday, I will take the plunge....

https://openlogicefi.com/ formerly detonationems.com has some nice options from 89$ with 2 channel injector/ignition for batch fire/wasted spark, the whole way up to aluminum case, 4 channel injection/ignition with gasketed connectors for 350$.
