I have 555 transmission in 86 charger. Still have rod shifter with my own hiem joint rods. Question is it’s getting hard to shift reverse 1 3 and 5 but 2 4 are butter. Is there more adjustments or is it time for repairs. Also never looked for replacement parts so any info would be great thank you
I would make sure the linkage is in good shape, and properly adjusted. If it goes into 2 and 4, but not the others, I think it almost has to be the adjustment. 2 and 4 are on different synchros.
Found the problem. I had the wife in the air and it was the shift rod dragging my screamer pipe. Not sure what I did but I easy fix. Thanks for the answer
