I ran the same S-60 cam and followers for decades and it's still in great condition.

I credit my success to using plain wheel bearing grease as the initial break in lube.

Also, running it in a G head insures the oil squirters provide sufficient oil to properly lube it.

Many/most later heads have much smaller squirter passages in the cam caps.
