any particular reason? Tanks are generally pretty cheap these days.

I found when trying to use a newer fuel pump modules ( pump installed in a plastic reservoir that the return fills) that it would not install in the older tank because of the bowl inside the tank that helps prevent cavitation.
The module was just a bit too long and wouldn't install. I had to get a newer tank with no baffle/ internal sump/ bowl.
