I have been working on my a/c. To check for leaks in the hoses I created adapters to check each hose individually. All hoses checked out good until I tested the hose to the evaporator. This hose is at present connected to the evap. When I evacuated it I noticed that the small line that goes to the drier had no vacuum at the opening. I have blown compressed air though the evap when flushing it before and I'm pretty sure air blew out of both openings having blown air through each one . I think there, should be free flow with the hose hooked up. I noticeded that I could only pull about fifteen inches which could indicate a leak at the connection to the evap but I should still see some vacuum at the small line.
Question...can the h valve restrict mass flow through the evap? I thought it only metered the flow of refrigerant.
Should there be free flow through the evap?
