Wow. You guys have got me itching to try out some new plugs. I have some br9es plugs in most of my cars with now if I'm not mistaken. It seems like that is way too cold for the daily drivers I have.

1000+hp hondas are running ngk 8 heat range. you are right, 9 is too cold. 6 should be fine.

I was looking for iridium plugs for my 2.5L jeep wrangler and they have a crazy extended electrode and insulator and i couldnt find a ngk iridium equivalent. had to go with an autolite xp iridium. we'll see if that adds some mileage or any performance as it is a dog lol. needs boost.

Here are those plugs.

the electrode and insulator sticks up the same height on the BPR6EIX and BKR6EIX but the BKR shrouds the insulator closer with the metal plug body.

I think ill try the BPR for now considering im already running BPR6ES

I ordered up a couple sets of the bpr6eix plugs and will try them out in my csx when they arrive. Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread. I'm sensing an increase in driveability in cold weather coming my way.

The new plugs are smoother. In some ways I would have thought the difference would have been greater given the difference in heat range. Definitely a step up though.

the one thing i noticed today as I still have yet to put the plugs in the car and was looking at them. the porcelain is narrower on the BKR6EIX. so if the plug boot isnt snug, you may need a small zip tie on the end to prevent moisture from getting in.

I think ill use the BPR on my volvo (since it needs plugs and wires and the BPR6EIX is the correct plug for that motor and wires) and add the zip tie to my wires and use the BKR6EIX on the reliant and see if it makes a difference.
