Been a while since I've used it,but iirc I had to start the recording, then start the car.

You can only record once the vehicle has the ignition on.
So if you are testing something without starting, be sure the ignition is on. Or, if you want logging data while engine is running, start to record after the vehicle is running.

I've had the ignition on, had it running, and the gauges don't move they just stay where they started, it says the COM port in the bottom left corner so it should be hooked up

    Did you start recording?

    Can you take a screenshot?
The FTDI cable was properly setup and you had the correct com port settings?

Looked at your pics, one said that the FTDI USB needed further installation.

Did you follow the instructions in the MPTune and/or MPScan threads on programming the FTDI flash cable? You might have missed something. You might need to pay special attention to how to program (or check the settings) of the FTDI cable using FT_prog

Yea I followed the instructions, I guess I'll have to go over it all and see if I missed something, it's just strange because it worked for flashing
