    Re: Difficult Ignition Cutout Problem

Everything is back in the car and it looks really nice. I put the original harness back in and made another HEP with the deutsch connectors from a brand new hep. I cleaned some grounds, and generally attempted to make everything as neat as possible. I made it one block before the car cut out again.

Are there any black friday deals on oscilloscopes out there?

The battery terminals are about it. With all of the various problems such as the fluctuating voltage, I think I had many gremlins and I'm getting down to just one. I need to decide which 4 channel oscilloscopes to buy so I can use my nice breakout board.

It's the board I posted pics of a while back. I can look at any of the lm inputs or outputs and ,ost of the pertinent ones are already setup for a bnc connector.

It acts instead like they do when the hep cuts out. The tach dies and coincides with the cutout. About the only thing I haven't changed is the ais. Maybe I'll give that a try.

Brian, I forget what does the scanner report?
Could I ask for a favour?? Would you add a section to your original posting with an executive summary of what you repaired/checked on this issue?

Cordes, does this car still have fusable links. I noticed that J1 in my "86" fsm goes to the ignition. A broken but still connected J1 might do this.
The only substitute for cubic inches is cubic dollars, how fast can you afford to go?

    Re: Difficult Ignition Cutout Problem

many years ago I had a TII that threw a code for the ais

so I replaced it with anew one
I still had the same issue and code after installing the new ais motor so I looked it over and asked myself
"what's the closest related thing next to the ais?"
so I swapped the TPS sensor off the car beside it

the issue went away as did the code

so ..I tried the old ais motor..nope issue and code came back
tried again .. swapped the tps and the code n issue also came back

at no time did it ever throw a code for the tps..

    but it absolutely wanted ,both

Well, the aisle is about the only thing I haven't changed. I'll give that a go next, and I'll try to update the op with a synopsis of all I've done.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'm getting close to needing one as a last hail mary.
