What are you guys using to do this? I have the Miller tool, but one of my subscribers can't find one, and I know I'll have a transmission eat itself as soon as I ship it out as a loaner. Is there anything comparable out there?

Hammer & punch for the steel retainer. Propane torch for the aluminum retainer.

They are out there for sure. I actually found one site which listed the hard to make inner part for about 70 bucks. One could craft the rest for cheap.
