i have some rear hubs from a 82 aries, ive noticed the spindle portion and mounting flange is thinner than 89 5 lug hubs, did dodge change this on the later cars to correct a issue and they are inferior part and shouldnt be used? was planing on useing them on a shadow with some 4lug 16" wheels just wanted to see if they are strong enough, have pics but cant really upload them
From what I've been told, the 4 lug stuff was replaced because they were losing wheels off of taxis in San Fran and also on the race tracks with Team Shelby. It wouldn't worry about it for a car I wasn't going to race, otherwise I would stick with the 5 lug parts.
interesting, cool to know there was a reason, i might continue making it, do you know if it was it the hub bearings failing or breaking studs?
If my memory serves, the studs were breaking.
ah ok thanks i figured i could make these work with the disk brakes with a redrill of rotors, ill look into upgraded studs. still need to check the offset and all that
i also have some ideas on a 5x114.3 rear hub option im looking into
