Waiting on a new SBEC for it, getting a code 27 Injector driver 2 open or shorted. Seems to do it after driving for about 30 min. Let it sit and cool off, restart it and no Check Engine light and runs fine. Also changesd the thermostat, it was fluctuating to much for me. also ordered a new radiator as this one is seeping on one lower corner. Put new CV axles in it.
Have you gone through the injector section of the wiring harness? Every time I’ve had an injector related code, that was the source of my problem.
Actually, got it running a couple days later, turned out to be a bad connection on the SMEC. it's doing great now. Which is great, because the SMEC I ordered wouldn't even start the car, had to return it.- - - Updated - - -
Several updates to the project. I got the entire instrument cluster working including the odometer. Replaced power steering pump to fix the leak. Got the A/C working and blows 42 degrees at the vent.
Wow. Great work. That’s a lot of progress, and the AC will come in real hand in TN.
Fixed a few things on it. Passangers window started acting up when putting it up, took door panel off and somehow the bolt was missing out of the top of the guide rod. while I had it apart, put some nice stereo speakes in the doors. got my Poly Bushings in from Johnny yesterday for the alternator so I can fix that. Also got the parking brake cables in this week to try to fix the parking brakes. It did develope a problem early this past week, where it won't pickup fuel under half a tank. so I ordered a new Delphi fuel pump assembly and while I have it open, putting in an new sender unit as well, because it has always not read correctly.
Currently working on a 1990 Es with my son. Great to see another one going!
Changed the fuel pump, sender unit and fuel filter. Installed Poly Bushing for the alternator and replaced The AC tensioner pulley.
