    Reading old SMEC tune?

My Van was tuned years ago and I don’t have the tune file anymore, I’m going to start re-tuning it and install bigger injectors but would like to pull the old file for a backup just to have.

I got a new flash cable and pulled the tune with MPTune, when I try opening the tune I just keep getting the below error. Any ideas?

Also anyone good at remote tuning? I understand the basics but would rather pay someone for a proper tune.

    who did the tune?

what system was the tune done with?

you need the original definition files for the tune unless it was based on a stock tune and definition file.

or you need someone with a disassembler to create a definition file for all the memory locations.

then you can at least copy the various tuned tables into a fresh tune.

Okay thanks for the info, I don’t know what system was used originally. I am about ready to start the tuning process and figured before I do anything I should save the original file since I know it’s a good running file, just incase I had a problem.

I guess I’ll just cross my fingers it goes good the first time I select a tune and flash
