I was hoping to salvage this caliper as they are getting hard to find, but I couldn't get the piston to budge. I then decided to cut it in half to figure out how it works. Hopefully these pics will be useful to all the Shelby Z and Maserati TC owners out there that want to rebuild their rear calipers. The ramp from this caliper has a huge hole worn in it from the pin that is supposed to push the screw out when the emergency brake is engaged. I'm not sure if that is a common problem with these, but it was definitely keeping this one from working correctly. The trick to get the piston apart was simply inserting the screw about half ways, clamping the head in a vise and then hitting the rear of the piston with a plastic mallet.
