I'm pretty sure you have to use the Turbonator stuff, which includes stock versions of the cals.

    Re: MpTune

the tuning file that MPTune is looking for is the .tpl file. this file contains the calibration information that can be edited to make a new or updated calibration.

the tpl file, when compiled using MPTune in conjunction with .asm file that comes with the turbonator line of calibrations, will generate a .bin file which can be flashed to a flashable ECu, burned to a chip or flashed to an eeprom emulator like an ostrich.

some of the stock calibration files in the repository were disassembled so that they have .tpl files that can be opened with MPTune. if those zip files only contain a .bin and a .tbl file, it wont work as well or open without using MPTune to convert to the current format.

    Hope that helps.

    Re: MpTune

so it's been 8 years since I've messed around with tuning and I'm a little fuzzy on MPTune. Last time I was using v18 as it had the spark cut but reading through the turbonator smec codebase thread it looks like the latest version is 19.6 and it seems to have all the features I want. I clicked on the link to get to the files to d'load and I see a bunch of .tpl files which I know I need to open in MPtune to modify. My question is how does the .asm file come into play? If I d'load it where do I put it and how do I use it.

    Thanks!

Keep a copy of the .asm in the same folder as a copy of the .tpl you are editing. It will need it there to compile your .bin
