    Replacement Exhaust for VNT?

Does anyone know of a place which sells a stock replacement style exhaust for a P body? I have a VNT which could really use a new exhaust being that it has completely rotted off in front of the rear axle. It is loud and turbo sounding with no exhaust, but that doesn't get the job done with boost control. Any suggestions are welcome.

I'm open to any ideas here. I'm sure this isn't a common problem, but it really boils down to the fact that I don't want to make my own exhaust. I guess if nothing is available commercially, I'll have to roll my own.

looks like AP exhaust makes an intermediate pipe for shadows.

    AP 34771

they also make a single outlet muffler 3266 (probably for TBI cars with less flow).

I would use the Dynomax super turbo 17741 muffler.

    catted downpipe are still available.

Thanks. I wasn't getting anything in my searches. I'll look at those and see what I can piece together.

ETA: When searching through those part numbers, the AP Exhaust catalog does indeed list a full exhaust for the Shadow. I think I'm going to see if they'll make me one in 304SS, and if so, what they'll charge me for it. Thanks again Bucar!

What is the diameter of the AP 34771 pipe? I assume it's 2.25" to match up with the 17741 muffler you mentioned? Do you know if there is an OEM-like exhaust tip available?

Well, "there is no coverage available" was the response I received to my inquiry regarding the pipe in SS. That was strange.

As a follow-up to your post, I asked a previous question, but you might not have seen it. You suggested the AP 34771 pipe with the Dynamax 17741 muffler. From what I can tell, that won't work because the 34771 would be too small for the 2.25" diameter muffler. Am I mistaken? If not, do you know if they make a (stock) 2.25" intermediate pipe for this application? Thanks!

what is the outlet size of the 34771 pipe? 2"

i havent had a stock TM exhaust in so long that I have no idea what size stuff is.

even if the pipe is 2" and the muffler is 2.25, nothing a sleeve or an adapter cant fix.

Interestingly, it does not say. That's why I was asking you. Since you suggested it, I thought you might know. Our stock pipe is 1 7/8", I believe. So, I assume that's what 34771 is. However, I think the outlet from the cat is either 2" or 2.25". Assuming it's 2.25" (with 2.5" inlet?), if we wanted to keep the same-size pipe all the way back and through the 2.25" muffler you suggested, we would need to find a 2.25" intermediate pipe to replace 34771. I was wondering if that exists. Does anyone know?

Okay, thanks. Well, I guess the question remains as to whether we can buy a "catalog" intermediate (between cat & muffler) pipe that is 2.25". Does anyone know?
