    Homemade Adustable FPR

I remember years ago seeing a webpage on how to convert your stock FPR to an adjusable unit. That was 15+ years ago... and obviously, I'm having trouble finding the page now. Anyone have a link or advice? This is for an 8v 2.2 car on a 3bar setup.... and I'm not interested in crushing it to get my results. I seem to remember that somone was cutting off the vacuum side and making a new out of aluminum, and I think Gus' version was putting a screwthrough the original vacuum barb and JB welding a new barb on the can?

I think I literally have one in my garage garbage can which I just threw in there the other day. If I can dig it out, you can have it. This does seem like a terrible, terrible idea though. The first baby was born in a cave because it had to be.

Back in the day FM used to sell an adjustable Bosch stock reg that had an adjusting screw in the center and a separate vaxuum/boost port. I think I still have one, I will see if I can find it and take some pictures.

Wasn't there another DIY approach that used a wheel bearing cap over the reg too?

There was one which had the dust cap. There were versions which used the aforementioned bolt and JB welded ports for vacc.

After having a fire in CSX 42 due to an aftermarket reg, and SL 356 which had a fire at the regulator area, I've gone to aftermarket rails with AN lines and remote AFPRs in pretty much everything.

That makes perfect sense to me, besides I know of one instance where were issues with a big name brand aftermarket regulator dropping fuel pressure because of heat soak when mounted closer to the engine, and the problem went away when the regulator was moved over to the inner fender.

Steve, I found the FM regulator, pictures attached.

Cool! Yeah… I’d be interested in it. But after reading people’s comments about leaks/fires and pressure drops, now I might be running scared. lol

I have the FM AFPR on my van, it came with the FM engine. It still works and seems to be holding pressure. No leaks either!
