Sundance T1 brass turbo coolant fitting

I have a Sundance with a questionable brass turbo coolant input fitting so it is easy to access. I have removed a number of these with heat with other turbos on the bench. Of course, I will need to drain the coolant in order to heat the fitting. I feel the inside oil, bearings and turbine shaft should be OK but thought it was best to ask first. I was planning to use my swirl combustion air/propane torch.
    Any thoughts?
    Regards,
    Miles

I've done that with no ill effects. The center housing is a pretty big heat sink and the area where the fitting is should heat up nicely so I don't think the amount of time I use heat on them is enough to burn the oil inside the housing.

Re: Sundance T1 brass turbo coolant fitting

My concern was breaking the brass fitting as it was on the car since new and I tried to remove the fitting (without heat) in the spring and was unsuccessful. This car is my DD thus my concern. So when the CSX was able to be driven as a daily this fall, I tackled the fitting with the blue wrench with confidence.
