having done "some" reading about the Garrett dual ball bearing turbos there's something to consider

IF you have a core to send them for rebuilding they are not to expensive as then you're into a 5-6 hun rebuild ..

dammed if I can find a dbb core .. anywhere though

not sure.... probably.... what I do know is that TONS of Turbo LS guys using his turbos. Sloppy Mechanics uses them for all kinds of builds.

doesn't seem to make sense to spend 2000$ on a turbo for a <1000$ car to me.

especially since alot of our cars are apart more than they are together.

if my Turbonetics 50 trim ever dies, ill probably replace it with a VSRacing turbo. i already have his gates and bov for another project....

The cheap turbos are alot better than they were years ago when they had stupid things like plastic bearings and epoxy bonded compressor housings.

Everyone needs to do their own research and not just repeat something they have heard. There is terrible eBay turbos and some decent ... gotta do your research... and if it dies after I’ll just buy another one and try something else...

A great majority of this community has cars that never run or rarely run.

what turbo are you getting just curious?

for the turbo that I posted, (or any without a internal wastegate) to run it on a R/T, this might work,

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/T3-To-T3-Tu...cAAOSwQ49clLq1

im going to use in on another project with a cast manifold so that I can run 2 wastegates so that it doesnt creep.... because I really need to limit the boost.

    lol , no,
"cobbled together" .. is outside my range of knowing what I'm doing.. and I have no "turbo shop" to take things to ..even if it wasn't
..you know for balancing.. which I know I'd need after swapping shafts n wheels and all things boost-ie..

new inna box.. THAT works for me .. 'specially with a warranty

you guys can spool out turbo model numbers , "trim, stage this or that compressor housing a or b etc ,.. and ya kinda lose me..I "get" the basic wheel sizes Garrett use and understand what I'm dealing with .. then, .. and I'm familiar with how it's going to actually physically fit with my other parts ..

I didn't mean cobbled in a demeaning way .. it's just not "my bag"

that and I don't have a time limit or final cost limit .. just collect what I can , as I can , when I can

that ^ might be worth the money even if it gives up early as the turbine housing that should fit the next turbo ..is worth the price alone..

This seems like a decent deal to me just no internal gate

with the ease that it is to remove the turbo on a T3, I would try it.
