The SRT unit requires a lot of modification to make it work in the 523/568 units. I think only one person has done that, and he's a machinist.
The Quafe is a much nicer unit than the OBX, but when they were available, the OBX was only about 20% as much cost wise.
I'm not positive that the 543 shares the diff with the 4 cyl transmissions, but I know the gears are the same, so I'm thinking someone will be along to confirm that soon.
All of the aftermarket "neon" LSD units are made for the T350 transmission which by convenience uses the same (by external dimensions) differential carrier assembly as our transmissions (555/568/525 aside) with a few differences (the speedometer gear being the primary one). The 523 and 543 are identical internally, the bell-housing is the only difference.
Modern performance has their own (presumably Chinese made as well) OBX copy as of current. It does cost more(about 2.5x) than the original cheapo plain white box special that OBX was well known for but they fixed all the Q/C issues that the original OBX units were infamously known to have.
The Quaife unit for the T350 is going to be by far the most superior offering but they come at a price that most pass up. Currently showing around $1200 from a few different online vendors if it is actually available anymore.

Didn't Chris @ TU offer a different than OBX or Quaife LSD option a couple years ago for that application?

Get it, get it now. 2 left.
I ran across an Ed Peters obx moded LSD. Not sure if thats just a sales jargon or if they're all engineered from Ed Peters chrco corp.
I think it is either 30 or 50, but either way, there aren't enough of us that would buy them, even if we each bought 2, to justify the overhead at $1200 each.
They can't be ordered individually...batch orders only. 30 or 50 at a time.
Same!
Goes back to what I posted on FB...our group in general are too cheap, so we don't get any support because very few of us are willing to plunk down the cash.
In the past, I think that would have been the end of the story. These days, I think there are too many guys who don't want to track down parts etc. and just want to keep their car on the road. I guess that could still be considered too cheap, but today a new trans or engine costs way more than the perfect condition unit one could retrieve from Any-JY-USA up until scrap got super high about 15 years ago. Heck, shipping on some stuff will run you what the actual part would have cost from the JY years back.
I apologize to the OP for a slightly off topic question while we are talking about LSD. I am currently installing my TU traction squared LSD in my CSX. I am still reading up on gear based LSD and ran into a surprising debate that I am hope you all can hep clarify. I have seen Jeep owners complain about gear type LSD on ice or rainy surfaces, some claim the vehicles are difficult to control on these surfaces and the open diff is superior. Other say the gear based LSD works great on these surfaces...
It appears a significant number are on each side of the argument.
Anyone with experience on either side?
Regards,
Miles

We did one run of our Traction˛ units. Unfortunately, they arrived just in time for the unanticipated import tariff to be applied which dug in to our profit margin. We considered a second run but since OBX decided to restart production of them we knew we could not be competitive with their pricing in this market. Instead we pursued the 555/568 version since it is less common. We were in the testing phase when higher import tariffs were being discussed so we just decided to wait things out.
