I’ve definitely had my share of rust. In the northeast, you have to pick your poison. I found 3 different k cars with different levels of rust. If the floors are rotten in complex places, I don’t touch them - just not worth my time and effort. But if they are rusted in flat areas or in places where I can buy a patch panel, I go for it.
My blue reliant has surface rust on the door bottoms that can easy be sanded down and painted. The passenger side rocker needs to be replaced, but I found a rocker on eBay and is an easy replacement. It was a former “movie car”, so it wasnt driven in the snow too often.
My little Hobart Handler 140 has been a wonderful investment. It’s a must have up here in the northeast.
No problem. From what I hear with the carbed 2.2's..... remove the feedback carb and put a non feedback carb of a similar model on it.

The new-to-me ported head was purchased from jeff1234 from the For Sale section.
Next Steps:
1. Port the exhaust manifold
2. Find a bigger turbo (Holset?)
3. Save up for the forged pistons
Nice. Glad to see you're making forward progress. Keep at it.
