    MPSuite programs available again

finally got my NAS up and running. That's the good news.

    Now the bad news............

ALL users need to uninstall all versions of mpscan, mptune, and mpscandroid and reinstall from the link in each sticky. i tried to see if i could make it transparent but it took just too much work to do that.

for mpscan and mptune it should be fairly clean. once they are uninstalled you may want to delete the actual mptune and mpscan subdirectories in the c:\users\xxxxx\MP Suite directory. just makes it a bit cleaner but you don't have to.

for mpscandroid it may delete any settings/logs you have. wayne has a better idea about that. so backup what you want first just in case. also, i added an extra "ext" to the extension to get around the security on alot of phones not letting you download an .apk file directly. so once downloaded you will need to delete the "ext" from the extension so the extension is just ".apk".

the first time you start the programs it may do alot of downloading of secondary files to get everything current. hopefully from that point on the auto update process should work cleanly.

sorry for the mess. i should have set up the NAS long ago vs relying on google, then dropbox, then netgear, etc to host the files. long ago(!!) i was able to store them directly on the TM file server. i think i may even still have access to it ..................:-) !! things are much more "complicated" now so the new method is best.

let me know any issues you have. still working out some of the bugs/nuances.

    Thanks Morris.
I will give it a go tomorrow and try to update everything, and test mpscilink and mpscandroid.

I'll report back when I do!

Thanks. I just uninstalled, and then reinstalled MPTune. Seems like it never left.

For Mpscandroid users, if you plan to uninstall the app, first back up your data folders.
If you have built layouts or configured user gauges this is important!
Bin files, bin reads, logs, profiles, etc. You should back this up by copying to a new folder, then transfer the files back you want to keep after reinstalling the app.

For any that don't know, the files are found in:
    Sdcard/Android/data/com.mpsuite.mpscandroid/files

There may be some slight file system variations depending on phone/tablet. I use File Expert app as my file manager and included a screenshot of the folder path.

    Re: MPSuite programs available again

the Sdcard part of the file path may refer to an actual sdcard or and "emulated" sd card (basically internal storage). so "sdcard" may show up as "storage/emulated/0" or something similar. depends on android OS version/variant.

i'm going to see if in a future version i can change the "user" documents to another directory that doesn't get wiped out on an uninstall.

    Re: MPSuite programs available again

I am just getting into all this and having a problem in MPSCANDroid where it cannot download all the CSV file once I have the application installed. I have not really developed a good layout yet so I have just been uninstalling and trying to reinstall each time.

My question is where is it downloading these CSV files from, some webpage I assume, is there a link to that webpage so I can verify its up and running? I did get it to download once but had other problems that forced me to uninstall and reinstall the app.

    thanks in advance

all the files are located on my personal NAS. you need to be connected to the internet via wifi. i just tried it a minute ago on my phone at work and it downloaded ok.
