When do you need to shim a flywheel?

Background, I just pulled the trans out of my car and the ceramic puck clutch eat into the clutch about 0.025". I ordered a TurbosUnleashed Stage 3 6-puck clutch and lightweight flywheel. The clutch has arrived but the flywheel has not arrived so I am about ready to put the car back together (I would like to get some break-in miles on the new clutch before Rocky Mountain Race Week!) I took the original flywheel to my machine shop and they ground it flat. Based on my measurements they took about 0.030" off of it. (was 1.095" thick, now 1.065" )

A while back I ordered some flywheel shims (a couple years ago) and finally took them out of the box and discovered they are wrong. Wrong center whole size. Wrong # of bolts. Wrong position for the bolts... I may have found a source for what appears to be a universal one, but do I need it?

I am still hoping the lightweight flywheel arrives soon, but so far my emails to Chris at TU have gone unanswered...
