Can coil springs be powder coated?

Today I dropped off a big load of parts to be powder coated for my Omni GLH suspension/chassis overhaul project. While I was there, I noticed that they had some very large (truck) coil springs that had been coated gold and hanging up and cooling.

Should I drop off the original coil springs for my Omni to be coated? I guess I was under the assumption that they would be damaged by the heat of the oven, but if they can be coated safely I'll drop them off with the other stuff.

No problems with getting them coated. Have done it many times with no ill effects.
