    Sticky tape for cowl trim?

Is the tape which holds the trim over the washer reservoir in the P body cars a butyl tape of some sort? Should I use that again, or go with something else? I am putting that section of my CSX back together and would like to have that area water sealed.

I'd suggest what we call dum dum here
it's 10 -ish long x 3/8 - ish diameter strips of black slightly gooey pliable sealer you can use to hold something down or seal a leak

it's going to be easier to pull apart when you need a new washer motor

I have a handful sized stash of the strips but I'd figure it would probably be available as a roll - for longer sections without making a bunch of gaps

might be similar to the goop that holds the plastic lining to the inside of a door under the interior panel
