FYI another name who had a hand in the GTP.. Paul Lindenberg

I saw this name in one of the Consulier Brochures. From what I can tell it is the same Paul Lindenberg who was building race winning machines way before the GTP.

    Excerpt-

"The Consulier GTP was designed to be the world's best sports car. it is the only production in the world featuring non-metallic composite unit body construction, recognized as the leading edge of technology. with a turbocharged four cylinder engine mid mounted in its aerodynamically designed body and all its luxury appointments the car weighs less than 2000 pounds. The result is an extraordinary performance envelope.

The Consulier GTP is the product of a three year development program. In 1985, Warren Mosler teamed with Dick Respess to build a superior sports car. Their racing and performance experience led to composite construction for the required high strength and light weight. Paul Lindenberg, a premier designer and builder of high performance yachts, was commisioned to develop the body molds. The sub frame and suspension system were designed by Bob McKee of McKee Engineering fame. Chet Fillip, former CART and NASCAR driver, leads the research and development effort.

By the middle of 1988 seven prototypes were produced and tested. One prototype was raced in the Longest Day of Nelson 88 in June. It easily qualified fastest in a field of more than 25 cars and successfully completed the grueling 24 hour event, demonstrating its durability and reliability as well as speed. The company is committed to a continuous, rigorous development and testing program to ensure the highest level of quality and performance. The total perforamnce of the Consulier GTP is simply unmatched. The aerodynamic body actually develops negative lift - as the speed increases, the air presses the car body down harder on its tires. This combined with low mass, independent inboard suspension front and rear, and 37/63 weight distribution, results in cornering, braking and handling that truly must be experienced to be believed."

    Good find

"The sole condition which is required in order to succeed in centralizing the supreme power in a democratic community, is to love equality, or to get men to believe you love it. Thus the science of despotism, which was once so complex is simplified, and reduced . . . . to a single principle."
    -- Alexis de Tocqueville

"One of the methods used by statists to destroy capitalism consists in establishing controls that tie a given industry hand and foot, making it unable to solve its problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary."
    --Ayn Rand

"To evolve, you don't need a Constitution. All you need is a legislature and a ballot box . . . . things will evolve as much as you want. All of these changes can come about democratically; you don't need a Constitution to do that and it's not the function of a Constitution to do that."
    -- Justice Antonin Scalia

Racing boat, Cruising boat... same boat. Sounds like much the same philosophy behind the Consulier GTP to me.
