I bought a few new Molex female connectors (33088-0009) for the 60 way ECU connector, I wanted to replace a few poor connections on an old 60 way.

A new connector grips a #54 drill bit but not a #55 (0.055" vs 0.052". Remember that the male pin on the ECU are hollow split and can be adjusted to be a few thous larger for good contact. I use a known good female to check for proper friction fit.

as a sidenote, I have tested a used 60 way I had on the shelf and a few of the 60 had a poor connection. From this data, I would to suggestion checking the 60 way with a #54 bit (shalf end please to reduce the possibility of cutting the inside of the connector.

Does anyone know the cream coloured grease that ships inside the female connector? I would guess white lithium grease.

Or do you know of any good product for these connections? dielectric grease? Deoxit5?
