Cut in lower rad Hose but no local replacements available

    Hello all,
I need ideas as my DD has a cut that was caused by the rad fan in the lower Rad hose. I don't have a spare 87 but i do have a used common block hose that may work.
    so here are my idea.
After removing cleaning and drying hose
1)fill small gap 1/16" x 1" with Qbond , cover with adhesive coated piece of rubber tubing( like a patch). Wrap with three hose clamps.

I could replace Qbond with RTV but I want to drive the car to work tomorrow. The gap could also be repaired with E6000 but slow to harden
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Miles

    Thanks everyone,
The good news is checked my hose inventory for a second time and found a new lower rad hose that fell behind a header of the garage.
    Crisis diverted.

Re: Cut in lower rad Hose but no local replacements available

I found that pipe trap repair kits (metal ones) are a perfect diameter for lots of FWD Mopar lower hoses. Chrome plated thin wall brass works perfect for those transplants where a factory hose isn't going to work anymore. I've also repaired intercooler hoses on GLHS's where the tranny case cuts into the hose. I used windshield urethane. I think the repair was stronger than the original hose (lol). Glad your back on the road again.

Re: Cut in lower rad Hose but no local replacements available

I once used a piece of the tubing from my mother's '70's canister style vacume

    - the chrome tubing that extended the hose end for the attachments was the perfect size to extend the length of the upper rad hose for the 2.6 mitsu rad in my first turbo z

mitsu 2.6 rad is the same hose end positions but wider still than a daytona/K car rad - it uses that third top mount hole on the left top of the rad - at the cradle mount point
uses it's own unique fan and shroud too

2.6 rad is aluminum and plastic tank

Yes, ditto that, Todd and Brian.

I salvage that stuff not for the brass value but for the Mopar value.
Got more than one L body with a spliced lower hose made by shortening some other random FWD Mopar hose. No glue/sealant, just safety wire.
