    Speedometer Cable

Which cable is correct for my 89 CSX? I accidentally ripped the original one apart. I see a few options on Rockauto or Amazon, but none of them look like the top half which I need. Some of them don't look like they would even hook up to the cluster.

Cable is a two part deal on all the 88 and 89 units ive owned. has a union at the center.

    Re: Speedometer Cable

Does anyone know which is the correct length for an 89 Shadow? This is one of the few pieces I need to have the car back on the road, even if in ugly cosmetic condition.

    Hi Brian,
I replaced the two piece on my 87 Sundance with one recommended by RA. I was a wee bit long but worked.
If you wish I can measure my spare one ATP Y829

Thanks a ton. I'll just buy that one. The extra length will probably help, if anything. I really appreciate it.

Since my CSX is now SBEC, I am planning to switch to electronic speedo

Yeah, I should probably do that myself since I have spare clusters etc. and the car is an 89 CSX. At the same time, it has been very difficult to let go of the originality of #42 after the fire. It's getting better for sure, but I still have some way to go. Maybe the next time it breaks...

Fortunately, mine wasn't damaged. They're certainly not as nice as the factory ones, but it seems like it'll turn the speedometer just fine. I'm actually really happy to have it.

    Re: Speedometer Cable

    i got my replacement.

my factory one is pretty hammered at the speedo connection. right now its being held together with electrical tape and a bunch of small zip ties.
