I never realized the time delay ones were available before 1991.

I wonder if having / not having the time delay relates some how to having to pull the headlamp knob back out & push it in again to put the headlamp doors down when you've shut the car off already with the lights still on
    (?)

it might if you think the lights are waiting for the time delay to clock out..they still have to be up then shut themselves all by themself

That sounds like how my '91s work, except they have the push button headlamp switches. It was a nice feature to have when I'd come home at night; the headlights would stay on long enough for me to get to the front door and then shut off.

My very first car was a 94 LeBaron. I recall it very clearly. If you shut off headlights after car was turned off, they were delayed. If you shut off lights before car, they went off immediately. I am thinking it was probably similar for the vehicles with popup headlights.

    Re: Descriptive Title

yeah except if you shut the headlamps off after shut down the lights go out but they stayed up .. unless you pulled the knob out and pushed it back in

I'm supposing this is because the time delay was missing in the system so there's no signal to close the doors as the time delay would have to both turn off the lamps and close them

it was irritating just like mopars power windows that don't work on accessory
...seems like everyone else's do ..
