    84 T1 Laser XE

Just picked up a Garnet Red Laser XE 2 owner, with 37k documents miles.

7/22 I replaced the cracked rubber fuel lines under the hood by the cowl. 2 were 3/8th 1 was 1/4 inch.

ordered a fuel filter from rockauto found out they were on close out at $1.09 each and got 2 instead

Car needs a radiator, has a high idle, Vacuum leak or ais not sure yet headliner is sagging. valve cover gasket leak. lots of work to do just to check this car out and make sure its good to drive after so much sitting.

Fuel pressure lines should be 5/16", return is 1/4".

    Congrats on the score!

The rubber hoses i pulled off both say " FUEL 3/8' EFM-EFI 18519" There is no Mopar branding of any kind though that i see on any of the hoses.

7/26 Replaced fuel filter and fuel lines. Took much longer than planned. was happy to see it wasn't an original filter. Cutting rock hard rubber hose with a razor is a pain. Even more so after you sliced your finger instead of the hose. Tissue and electrical tape took care of that, didn't even need super glue, so nothing much to worry about.

Factory vac line 5/32 and 1/4" can be found here:

    https://www.automationdirect.com/adc...bing_-a-_hoses

Factory is nylon and will need to be replaced after so many years but it's cheap enough here to do that often if so desired.

I consider Poly an upgrade as it flows slightly better, will make a tighter radius bend before kinking, and will not harden and crack. The only downside is it has a lower melting point so care must be taken in it's routing. If care is taken they last forever.

Well last weekend I reglued the head liner. Hardest part of getting it out was unplugging the dome light Used 3M super 77 after bristle brushing the old glue off the board
Next week will be the grommet for the rear wiper

Been a long time since I’ve posted.
Had the car repainted. I really wanted to keep it patina, but it was just too much clear lifted and paint damage had the lower stripes painted on. After the paint cured I had the upper stripes applied
    Here is a few pictures https://photos.app.goo.gl/opH5pRazYK9aHHtj6. https://photos.app.goo.gl/Wbpcqm9x4YMX8FJM7

here are 2 with the stripes on. I’ve also added 17 inch wheels. The pizzas are going out to be re machined

Wow. That looks great. When you do the suspension, some MP autocross springs in the rear with some Eibachs in the front, or even a set of BC coilovers from Rich Bryant would really compliment those wheels.

Thanks. I’m seriously torn about what direction I want to go with the car. It’s a 39k mile car in mint original condition other than the repaint. Seats carpet dash nothing is torn or cut up. Part of me want to put big brakes on it and lower it some. Part of me wants to keep it all stock. I am sending the pizza wheels out to get remachined, and I’m going to put some 205/50/15s that are high performance summer tires.

I can certainly understand that. On the big brake front, they might interfere with your pizza wheels. There were at least three companies which cast the pizza wheels and from what I understand, the Enkei wheels might be the ones which fit under them with no grinding of the calipers. At the same time, nothing beats the ability to brake well in an old car that you want to keep on the road in spite of teen drivers pulling out in front of you.

We put Spirit RT front brakes on our L body 24 hours of lemons car and the pizzas won’t spin up front. No idea where the contact is, front face or curved part but when we tightened it down it wouldn’t spin. So we now use neon snowflakes. Going to big brakes would require new rims as well. Unless ..... I could find a 4x100 import rotor around 11 inches.

You can clearance the calipers a little, and they'll fit.

You bet, my 11" on my Sundance was the BEST upgrade, saved me from a t-bone with a panel van a week or so after I installed them at 50-60 mph. I feel I can brake as well as the other cars on the road.

Put a powder coated valve cover on. Happy to see the cam seals were not leaking 😊
