    1986 Omni GLHS engine shock

Greetings. I'm currently in the middle of fully restoring my 86 GLHS (290). I have rebuilt the entire front end minus the engine shock located on the backside of the engine. I have an A523 trans installed so I had to relocate the lower mount on the K member. For the life of me I cannot locate a replacement. any help would be great. thanks in advance.

For the tab on the K-frame? Didn't polybushings.com carry that? I would think it would be easy to fabricate for any good welding shop.

If you can't find the actual bobble strut (the real name for the shock), this is an option that controls the motion of the engine much better than the shock does:

However it does increase the engine vibration transmitted to the car a bit.

Re: 1986 Omni GLHS engine shock

87 &^ caravans and K cars with the later transmissions came with a bracket on the diff that uses the old style dog bone like your 525 used to have

polybushings carries the replacement dog bones .. you only need to find a caravan or K car , 87^ that was originally 5 spd and scope the bracket

this would be one of those parts we could use reproductions of ...

to note it still uses the NEW bobble mount position on the K frame - Not the 525's location

I want to thank everyone for the help. I was able to purchase a NOS one from a fellow board member.
