    85 TII SC Stalling issues

85 SC 5 speed converted to 1988 2.2 TII over 10 years ago.

Upgrades: FWD TII computer, MAP moved to engine, o2 sensor, ignition coil.
    • Car ran good, vacuum leak, but derivable.
    • I drove it around the bay area, highways 13-24-680-242-680-580 back home without any problems.
    • Took it out again, fuel harness blown. Sat for a couple years, until i decided to get it going.

    The issues are:
    • Idles at 1800, when i attach the vacuum hose to the map, the car dies.
    • At startup it idles rough, sputters then gets going at 1800.

    Things i tried:
    • Changed map and computer.
    • Fuel has been changed.

With no luck, same issues with Mutt.

    Any feedback is welcome,

    RE

What codes are shown? Have you checked for large vacuum leaks or faulty AIS etc?

After checking all vacuum lines 3 times, I would thoroughly clean out the AIS portion of the TB and go from there.

Yeah, checking codes would be the first thing. It does sound like a big vacuum leak. I would check the 3/8" hoses for the PCV valve connection and brake booster. Are you running stockish vacuum lines or a distribution manifold? If it has sat for a long time the rubber or vinyl (hard) lines could be cracked and disintegrating. Also check for bad vacuum caps on the brake booster or compressor housing if you have capped anything off. Also it could be a faulty manifold or TB gasket or a bad AIS motor.
