    Vinyl car wraps

Has anybody here ever gotten a TM wrapped, or at least a vehicle they have?

I'm wondering things like cost, how long it can be expected to last, upkeep, time it takes a shop to install etc..

The local guy who does it out of his garage charges around $2000 to wrap a whole car.

~$2000 is correct. can be a little less for smaller car. and cheaper wrap material. can get alot more expensive.

You can DIY and get a kit for about 500$. with low grade vinyl

How many hours does it take to do this? How much for these guys in materials? Depending on the answers to these questions, I may yet again be in the wrong business.

materials are about 300-500$ for the wrap it self. and of course fancy and high end wrap costs alot more.

a wrap job is about 8-12 hours. depending on size and panel shape.

    Re: Vinyl car wraps

Just remembered, last summer at a garage/moving sale.

I bought a big box of what looked like brand new RAM, F150, 5.0, HEAVY DUTY etc emblems.

Before buying, thinking the worst, I asked the guy how he came to having so many new looking emblems?

I wrapped new trucks for dealers, and made enough to move to the west coast and retire!

They wanted all emblems removed and not reinstalled was his answer.

He threw in about a sq/ft of silver wrapping.

    Thanks
    Randy
