what parts for 5 x 114 rear wheel disc ??

my local u-pick yard just opened back up after burning down two years ago and they've just stocked up the yard
so it's time to grab a coffee and go browse some old wrecked caravans .. I suppose , when it finally stops raining...

aim is 4 wheel disc with 5 x 114 hubs at all corners .. on a charger with wheels that kinda stick out to much (?)

(available wheel selection mandates hub pattern to get what I want and I'll take an extra 3/4 inch tire clearance if it's to be had)

front is easy as I already have the 93 knuckles and big brakes so I need the front hubs and rotors

... and everything for the back

I've looked up the caravan stuff - it seems the early rear hubs & spindles are pretty much the same as the car ones with the exceptions of being smaller & bigger
both in the spindle bolt circle as well as the axle mount surface to dust cap distance

    - this , in the larger 114 hub & spindle is something I want

not being a "van guy I have no clue what year vans I'm looking for but I've noted the newer stuff seems to use spindles that are much much different where they mount to the axle

I guessing maybe there's a later model L- something platform rear disc set that might also work ??
but would it also be wider when assembled
ie- I also want to use a daytona duel pivot K frame modded to fit the charger but maintaining the daytona wheel rack width so the wider van set up has a reason for "being"

Let me know if you want to get a dual pivot K frame. I know were there is one in a guy's shed we can sneak over after dark....
JK, he offered it to me but I don't need it. He is like 5 minutes away from you.

I wish I'd seen this before I scrapped the Caliber a few weeks ago. I'm not positive if the spindle would bolt up to your rear axle, but the Caliber rear discs were non-vented and very similar to the older stuff. 5x114.3 (4.5"), drum parking brake. Likely shared with the Dodge Journey, Avenger, and I'm sure other platforms.

Re: what parts for 5 x 114 rear wheel disc ??

well I got a chance to stroll the wreckers today

had a lookiesee at all the later model stuff .. 2000 and up anyways

and I learned some stuff about the late model rear discs
can't use 'em .. because of the plug and protrusion sticking out the back of the rear hub deal

I need a spindle / hub arrangement like our cars use on the back .. so I was originally looking for something hopefully in the 89-2000 range
found one ...with drums on the back - maybe I should scoop the hubs and spindles anyways

though I'm not entirely sure it was 114 mm or 100 mm bolt circle .. it did look the larger

so .. still trying to figure out if an early car like - 114 pattern rear disc even exists (???)

or , maybe I should just use the early style caravan rear drums and spindles (??) - if they are 5 x 114

Hmmm. What about the Mitsubishi-built (two door) Stratus/Sebring/Eclipse? I'm not even sure that's the correct bolt pattern, I just know it's not 5x100.

There are a few who have done this. I think Jon Trotter used 300M rear disk brakes.

Re: what parts for 5 x 114 rear wheel disc ??

man ,, googleing anything that starts with a previous year and either f150 or dodge caravan is sure to come up with a tidal wave of 2019 stuff jammed down your throat ..
    man !!

so searching for rear caravan rotors I came up with nothing until I got to '96
parts pic attached should be for the 96 stuff - and that's the start of what I'm looking for I suppose
    XXXXXXXXXXX
update /edit : and now it seems the diagram is from 95 (sigh)

also googled caravan wheels to check 96 is 114mm . (4 1/2) and bingo !! yes

seems to me I should go back and scoop the drums off the 90-91 I saw today though I did find parts listings for 96 rear disc ...

    still looking

I admit I'm lost with both vans and newer stuff
I also looked at all the newer mopar stuff from the lm (?) cars but they all look to be close to the same assembly width as the old 80's car stuff

essentially I want more track width and I'd rather get it with a beefier spindle and hub rather than a spacer behind the spindle
also the wheels I like are in 114

but hey big drums will get it done just fine too

    listing for 96-2000 I found

trying to find hub and spindle pics
generic late model parts pics ..on everything ain't helpin'

did find a thread on TD where someone put car discs on the back of a van .. not much help but does include good comparison pics of the hubs and spindles

    www.turbododge.com/forums/f4/f22/341580-rear-disk-conversion.html

...91 caravan rear drums and 93 iroc r/t front brakes ????

hummm .. BOTH are bigger ...?
